"Okupas" (Squatters)
4 young men with different backgrounds merge in the same house and have to face new experiences living in a stolen house, being prosecuted by the police and other gangs.
It's considered a cult series in Argentina and has won many awards. Also a great source of Argentinian slang.
"El marginal" (The Marginal)
Pastor, an undercover cop sets on a mission to rescue the kidnapped daughter of a judge by infiltrating the prison where she's suspected to be at. Once inside he will have to learn to live by the prison's and the inmates' rules.

"Nueve reinas" (Nine queens)
The story follows Juan and Marcos, two con artists who reside in Buenos Aires. The movie occurs in 24 hours; in that time the characters meet and get involved in a business that can make then get a lot of money. The mission is to steal some stamps(the nine queens) and sell them to a millionaire. The main characters, who have only one day to do the heist, have to use their wit in order to succeed.
"El secreto de sus ojos" (The secret in their eyes)
A retired legal counselor writes a novel hoping to find closure for one of his past unresolved homicide cases and for his unreciprocated love with his superior - both of which still haunt him decades later.
This movie won an Oscar and even was reproduced in many countries and it's a great illustration of the time.
"Tango feroz" (Wild Tango)
One of the first rock stars in Argentina, Tango leads a full life during an era of social unrest -- one of both glory and despair. A biopic based on the life of one of the pioneer argentine rock stars 'Tanguito'. The movie tells the story of his rise and fall from grace, encompassed in violent times of a military regime.
"La historia oficial" (The official story)
Buenos Aires, 1983. In the last years of the Argentine military dictatorship, a wealthy history teacher becomes aware of what happened in that period. Her suspicions about the dark affairs of her husband and a Grandmother from Plaza de Mayo who is looking for her granddaughter are the reasons that lead her to rethink "the official story".
This movie is in an open window into Argentina's darkest side of history, from the perspective of those who actually lived it.
"El cuaderno de Tomy" (Notes for my son)
Facing a terminal illness, María Vázquez decides to focus on her 2-year-old son remembering her. It is inspired by the real story embodied in the book "El Cuaderno de Nippur", written by María Vázquez.
