So you want to learn Spanish, but don't have the money for private classes

No problem. Here are the best free Spanish lessons on Youtube that will help you develop your listening comprehension of Spanish words and accents. Scroll below for the section for kids.

1. For beginner learners : The Language Tutor

Dr. Danny Evans starts from the very basics, making sure you know exactly how to pronounce each letter of the alphabet, and then gradually covers hundreds of grammar lessons, always finding a way to explain even the more complex lessons in a very simple manner. He is perfectly bilingual, so you will have no trouble understanding him.

2. For intermediate learners : Spanish Pod 101

They have a wide variety of short videos, including weekly Spanish words on different themes, the top 25 must-know Spanish nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.; how to pronounce phrases in various scenarios which can be as specific as 'How to buy souvenirs at a local market in Mexico'. They always have native-speaker, for you to hear authentic accents.

Our personal favorite are the videos with Alisha and Lia, who break down Spanish grammar into short, easy, clear lessons.

3. To practice hearing and pronunciation: Quino.com

These videos are great to practice formulating nouns, verbs, questions and answers you'd find in basic conversations.  Subjects include family, weather, restaurants, meeting a friend, meeting a stranger, etc.  The orations go from very simple, and become more elaborate throughout the video. It's all about listening, so you can put on the video while you cook, clean, exercise, etc.

4. For Kids: Calico

These videos teach kids ages 3 -10 Spanish through songs and animations. They are well done, and cover topics such as animals, colors, body parts, numbers, food, professions, etc.

Well, we hope that these ideas will serve you well in your Spanish learning process, whether you are a beginner, intermediate, a child or an adult.

If you are an advanced learner, then we would recommend you do language exchanges, or put your Spanish into practice with native speaking tutors.

Mastering a language is a long process. It requires time, effort and dedication. But it is also fun, exciting, and rewarding!  So keep up the good work, you'll get there!
